A major wind storm swept through Pasadena last night – here’s what our yard looks like afterward.
The maple tree in the backyard was 70% covered with leaves yesterday morning – not any more!
Building a Better Bungalow
And now, a brief return to the original function of this web site!
The TV nook never housed a television and wasn’t much of a nook, so it was time to change things up a bit…
Starting at 8:00 this morning, the back bedroom began a metamorphosis, courtesy of a few hammers, some drywall saws, and, well, whatever that thing above is!
After we opened up the space around the ersatz cabinet space, we found a crumpled up water bottle from the original build and a baby sock Josh pushed through the outlet box into the space behind!
The cabinet/nook after being ripped out and taken outside. Hasta luego!
We moved the wiring from its original spot in the bottom right up into the center of the wall, then junctioned a power outlet to the left hand side. Isn’t construction awesome?
The drywall before taping and mudding. Soon you’ll never know the nook was there!
Think that’s it? Think again! The room was then primed for a new paint color (with a little help from Adam Carolla on the bed boombox!).
The plan is to paint what we can and mud/tape up the drywall tomorrow. Totally new room for Josh and Megan to come home to!
We have a virtual forest of veggies! It’s hard to believe all of these plants started out around 6 inches tall!
From an old farmer’s trick, plant marigolds to ward off tomato loving rodents!
Here is what we are growing…Lots of tomatoes (Roma, Big Boy, Sweet 100 and Celebrity), Crooked-Neck Squash, and Bell Peppers!
Mint and Basil…
And Cucumbers! Our first taste of the garden in a salad this week!
Pumpkins Galore!
And Indiana checking out the strawberries! We’ve been busy!
